vs Ahmed Kaddour
04.24.2005
Before the fight with Ahmed Kaddour, I felt like I was
at my peak. I was so confident that my hard work and determination was
going to get me through the victory. In the locker room I realized that
I had lost my mouthpiece, so Jeremy warmed up water and made one right
on the spot. Thats why it looked like it was too big on TV. The first
round we both started hard, toe to toe. I saw how Ishe hurt him with
the body and I had been working on my hook to the liver with the
sparring partner. I knew that I had hurt Ahmed to the body once he
started boxing me. Not knowing how the judges were going to score I
went out every round to throw and throw and throw. Some judges score
rounds for the harder puncher and other judges score for the most
active fighter. So I was uncertain how the judges were scoring my
fight. Because the mouthpiece was too big, it didnt fit right, it fell
out 3 times. I was lucky I didnt get a point taken way. But I guess it
goes the same way for Ahmed, because he was so tired that he dropped it
a few times also. Thats why I think my face was more swollen than
usual because sometimes the ref didnt even notice that my mouthpiece
had fallen off, and Ahmed continue connecting with his punches. I was
exhausted after the fight but happier that I had won. Ahmed is a good
fighter, but if he gets his mind right, he can be a great fighter!
